My Manifesto
Article 1 - Right to Complexity
Every human being has the right to be recognized as a complex system, free from rigid definitions and imposed models. One's identity can change, contradict itself and escape any attempt at simplification.
Article 2 - Right to unmeasurable value
Every human being has the right to be recognized for forms of value that are not reduced to productivity or efficiency. Contributing to the community can take many forms: caring, listening, presence, imagination, transformation. No one should be excluded simply because he or she does not fit within the parameters of the dominant system.
Article 3 - Right to Retreat
Every human being has the right to withdraw, temporarily or permanently, from the noise of the world. Choosing solitude is not an act against life, but a way to listen to it without mediation. However, relationship remains a possible and fruitful way, to which one can freely return, not out of duty, but out of desire.
Article 4 - Right to Conscious Contradiction
Human beings have the right to be contradictory and to change their minds over time, while respecting scientific evidence and shared reality. Freedom of thought does not justify the dissemination of false or harmful information.
Article 5 - Right to Responsible Imperfection
Every person has the right to be vulnerable and imperfect, while recognizing responsibility to self and community. Error is part of the human journey, but it must not become an excuse to evade the consequences of one's actions.
Article 6 - Right to be invisible
Every person has the right to choose when and how to show himself or herself to the world. He or she is not obliged to be visible all the time, tell his or her story or justify his or her presence or absence. The freedom to exist in the shadows is an integral part of human dignity.
Article 7 - Right to Metamorphosis
Every human being has the right to continually transform, to evolve, to change skin, identity, roles and perspectives throughout his or her life. Stability should not be seen as an obligation, but as one possible condition among many. Transformation is an essential part of freedom and authenticity.
